	Petite Deli WOW, GREAT sandwich! The lady behind the counter was SO adorable and friendly. She was like a one woman army, making sandwiches for people that kept coming in. I heard her apologizing to the people for the wait, because it was just her, and she had no help! But I hear people reassuring her, "your sandwiches are worth the wait, don't worry!" And I couldn't agree more. Highly recommend the Turkey Delight. The bread is awesome, the ingredients are fresh, and there is definitely a "homemade" feel for these sandwiches.
	M & L Market The BEST sandwich place ever!!! They have killer pastrami sandwiches!!! Try the chicken salad sandwich. Customer service is very friendly IF you follow the ordering rules, remember bread first!!!! On another note: expect a line, good things come to those who wait. We drive 30 minutes just to eat here, however sometimes we come and they are closed for vacation. Just a warning for those coming from a far. They are also not open on weekends. HOWEVER, I will always still come back, they do have the BEST sandwiches EVER!!!!
	Rosamunde Sausage Grill I finally experienced the infamous Toronado-Rosamunde combo Friday before last and I now understand Rosamunde's immense popularity. I chose the wild boar sausage and once I took the first bite I immediately wished I had ordered two. I could easily kill a couple of those things in a single sitting. Comparing wild boar to pork or beef is like comparing a muscle car to a scooter. The flavor was that intense and full.
	Alamo Square Market % Deli An urban density fan's delight. Tucked in the basement of a Victorian off Alamo Square, this market (like so many others) employs a sandwich counter in hopes of drawing more business than just the bathrobe-clad neighbors dashing in for e-supplies. Extra perks: memorable sandwich names and outrageously chill clerks whose slacker-banter is worthy of Linklater. Napkins, bro?
	Good Luck Café & Deli Oh yeah, at work we affectionately identify this place as "the Sandwich Dive." I'm not sure why, I mean maybe because the tore-up brown awning outside makes it look divey, but inside it looks clean and there is never any spilled beer or jaeger on the floor. The husband and wife team (I think) work efficiently and quickly to get a piping hot toasted wrapped pile of goodness into my hands within minutes. I recommend the chicken salad and the smoked salmon. Sometimes I go crazy and get smoked salmon on toasted dutch crunch with cream cheese and pickles. I know, it's weird but sometimes I get prego cravings even though I am a dude.
	Guerra Quality Meats Seriously the loveliest meat counter I have ever witnessed, seafood, Lamb, rabbit, veal, prepared pre seasoned meats, poultry including goose. We grilled a 10 lb Chateau Briand and the butcher wanted to make sure it come out well and advised in indirect heat and timing. It was awesome. The sandwiches are healthy and tasty. Seriously top notch service, funny and friendly staff. I want to try their Pasta and sauces next. Oh and they have veggies and fruit, pretty much anything you need for your meal. I like Lucca and Molanari's like the next person, but this place is so much more in my opinion. I have lived in the area for more than 3 years and have just recently found this treasure. I will be back.
	Henry's Café & Deli This is a great sandwich shop with the best cappuccino in downtown. At 2 bucks for a double cap with cinnamon served by the happiest, cheerful lady in all of downtown You can't beat it. Given the fact that Starbucks double cappuccinos are almost 4 bucks! No thanks. She makes it good and strong, clears you right up.
	Lucca Delicatessen They have some of the best creamy Gorgonzola and take-out ravioli I have ever had. The other way to go is a sandwich. I personally like picking my own meats from the case and having them slice them for me and plopping it into a crunchy dutch roll or an Acme sweet loaf. Then, just to be different I like adding avocado to create a nice creamy contrast to the spicy salami.
	Molinari Delicatessen This place is a TREASURE, alright? Take a number and soak it in. Pick your sandwich bread out of a bin and wait for them to bless it with sandwich-ness. These people have been doing what they do FOR A LONG TIME - and may the stars fall before they change a damn thing.
	Lucca Food Store There is a large sandwich counter filled with meats, cheeses, and homemade pies, etc. On the menu board there is a decent selection of reasonably priced hot and cold sandwiches, spaghetti, lasagna, and various deli salads. The store also has everything else you would expect at a corner store
	901 Columbus Café The sandwiches are solid and the juice selection is ample, but let's get back to the draft beer. On a clear evening I can sit outside with my pals, do some people watching and try to solve the world's problems without breaking the budget. My buddy Thel turned me on to this place, and it's worth my first shout-out on Yelp.
	Guerrero Market & Deli I've been there a few times now and have tried a few different things and still havent had anything that wasn't delicious. Their baba ghanoush is as good as any I've had if not better.
	Café Venice This place is the best, I'm glad it's getting good ratings because I didn't even know other people knew this place existed. Romy IS the best ever. Always remembers my order and makes the BEST mocha ever, I dont give a shit how much it costs, it's delicious. I want to know his secret. Dude also let me stay there after hours when I got locked out of my house. How sweeet!
	Morty's Delicatessen This is my favorite lunch place close to work. I almost always get the Golden Gate because I really like prosciutto and their pesto mayo. The place totally fits into the TL, but still give you a good sandwich with a clean place to eat it.
	Ted's Market I still love Ted's and I'm just writing this update to say, I can't believe it took me this many years to eat a Ted's taco. Because they are wonderful! Yay for Taco Wednesdays!
	Fredy's Ocean Beach Deli Suffice it to say, the hominess, the simplicity and the smell of this place sold it for me the minute I walked in years ago. Then, Sarah welcomed me! Yikes! She is funny and a quick sandwich maker. So, then I got the sandwich - Yoicks! Warm and delicious; flavors and sensations popping right and left - ohhhh...hot mustard...crunchy bread...each bite more yummy than the last. Eating this sandwich, cupped lovingly in both hands...chewing...moaning and saying outloud, "mmmmmmm," I watched others come in...greeted with a smile or "the regular today?" I felt like I was home. Whenever I travel down south, I do everything I can to get a sandwich at Fredy's. Absolutely the BEST!!!!!!
	Angel Café I love Angel. Good drinks and food. When I moved into the neighborhood, I went there because it was just a block away and have been back since. Once, I ordered a cappuccino in ceramic and after putting it on the table, I bumped the table and spilled the whole drink. The owner rushed out with a rag and napkins and after helping to clean up, made me another, no charge.
	Freddie's Sandwiches We were hungry after our Alcratraz tour so I used the yelp app on my iphone, and up pops Freddie's. We headed over and had some great sandwiches (yummy egg salad!). There's a huge selection of drinks and chips too. What pushed this place over to a 5 star experience was the steady stream of kids from the neighborhood coming in to buy snacks after school. And when one little kid was a little short, the friendly guy behind the counter (Freddie?) let her get her snack anyway. Reminds me of the old soda fountain I used to go to as a kid. Minus the soda fountain, of course.
	The Sentinel the corned beef and smoked trout sandwiches are lip-smackin, finger-lickin, moan-with-your-mouth full oh so good!! These hot little numbers must be devoured immediately! I top it off with their freshly squeezed orange-ginger juice and I'm one satisfied woman! I usually don't go for sandwiches during lunch but damn, I'm salivating just thinking about this tiny little place.
	Turk & Larkin Deli the sandwiches here are pretty good. i doubt i've eaten one yet though without most of the sandwich falling out onto my plate. the salads, however, are great! you have to order the right combo of sandwich and salad though or they rip you off on price.
	Café Zoet The only downside of this place is the size and the cash only policy. Otherwise the food is great, the service is great, and the prices are great. The lady that works there is very nice, and it takes so long because everything is fresh; nothing pre-packaged. They have some great varieties of sandwiches and salads.
	The Cheese Steak Shop The steak fries are crisp, thick and sooo good. I find myself driving by and just picking up a bag on my way home sometimes...bad yes I know....but does my tummy love me for it!!! =) I've tried the garlic and mushroom cheesesteak.. both very tasty and oily. It's probably not too good for you but how can you resist!
	The Sandwich Place Cheap, decent sandwiches, fresh ingredients, wide variety, but shoddy service. I waited much longer than I expected, even for a simple sandwich shop like this. The staff seemed distracted. And despite requesting "no onions" and the woman verbally repeating "no onions", she still put onions in my sandwich.

	La Palma Mexicatessen I have been dying to go here since my friend told me about it a couple of weeks ago. I went this weekend and immediately fell in love with their hot sauce, which we actually got more to go for the house. My friend grew up in Mexico all her life and loved it, so she said the sauce was just like her Grandma's homemade sauce.The food was delicious and the appearance of it was tasteful. We can't wait to go back and try out the new items on the menu.
	The Tamaly Lady There is a goddess who walks the Mission and offers weary (by weary, I usually mean drunk) folks a magical food to revitalize their souls (by revitalize I mean sober 'em up). She isn't serving manna, but I can only assume that it would be pretty close.
	La Borinqueña Mex-icatessen & Specialty Shop One more bright and shining star for the intelligence, the charm, the energy and the passion that is Tina Tamale. Miz Tam and I met Tina today at La Borinqueña. We ate, we talked, we got the history, we shared stories. We talked. We talked. It was good. So was the food.
	El Tonayense Taco Truck Solid tacos. Good corn tortilla, grilled as any good taco tortilla is, with well seasoned meats and some decent salsa. Horchata was a little more watery than I like it. I have to second another reviewer who said that the al pastor is a bit more like stew meat. Off-the fire-spit al pastor makes all the difference. Again, very good tacos, but I wouldn't say it's worth making a big trip out of the way for it.
	El Farolito taqueria This is INGENIOUS! Combining my 2 favorite things into one delicious burrito. Usually I have a hard time deciding, I hmmm and hummmm over the menu bothering my friends with stupid unhelpful questions like: "Wait, so if I get the Chile relleno then I won't really be able to get the burrito right?" or "What if I get the burrito and the Chile relleno would have be so tasty it would have changed my life?" I no longer have to ask those questions because I can get BOTH in the same dish here!! STUPENDOUS I tell you.
	El Farolito Life is about a lot of things: Love, death, friendship, family, buying your first car, screaming at the TV while Sarah Palin is talking, getting allergies in the spring, making porn or not because you don't have a video camera, trying to figure out what an open relationship means and how to really do it....all of these things and many more are instantly forgotten upon taking a bite of a ginormous super burrito at El Farolito.
	La Tiendita La Tiendita introduced me to a new food love - the Mexican sandwich, aka the Torta. The sandwiches here are made with a soft, slightly sweet roll (bolillo) and filled with different ingredients. They are large, so can be shared with another person or split between two meals. I had the al pastor, chunks of delicious marinated pork, perfectly balanced by the fresh tomato, avocado, refried beans and touch of mayo. I've been to other places in the Mission, along 24th street, that serves tortas, but this place is my favorite.
	Tortas Los Picudos I've had this barrio thing for a while right now and Torta Los Picudos is by far THE tortas place in the Mission, no more to discuss. From juices to tortas there is no complaint that can be raised. Layered flavors, fresh ingredients, condiments are not overloaded and balanced and the tomatillo sauce is a killer!
	El Cachanilla Restaurant a couple years ago while I was riding around drunk one day, I stopped here and got a couple fish tacos and my friend and I agreed that indeed, this tasted just like mexico does. I ordered my couple tacos and sat on the curb with my tall can of bud, and I've been going there ever since.

	Pasta Gina Great Italian specialty store in Noe Valley, featuring numerous house pastas, sauces and assorted other goods. I'm not the biggest pasta fan, so I bet some of you will like this place even more than I did, but I did really enjoy my chicken breast. Accented with some delicious pesto and topped with roasted veggies, one was plenty for dinner.
	Frascati Cute little place with a nice menu. There was nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary that would wow me or make me want to bring friends or a lover to a quiet little place like this. Now that I think of it, maybe my grandma will enjoy it.
	Il Pollaio For all the hype about Il Pollaio, I found it borrrrring! If it hadn't been so overhyped, I may have liked it. I may have also liked it more if they hadn't made us sit with this weird guy. It's a small place, but you shouldn't have to graze hands with strangers to eat your fries.
	Acquerello We recently went there for a quiet birthday dinner for two. A friend recommended it and I am very pleased we went. The interior is very elegant and formal.I had Neapolitan ravioli (ragout Napoletano, or something of the sort)--ravioli filled with chopped beef, in a rich beef sugo; another person from the party had a thinly sliced steak in pizza oven with ruccola and parmigiano. Both meals were lovely, ravioli perhaps more interesting--impeccably made pasta.
	Allegro Romano My boyfriend surprised me by taking me here on our 1 year anniversary and it was absolutely magical. The food, service and ambiance are amazing and the price was very reasonable. Lorenzo is an incredible host and makes his patrons feel so welcome. All of the little touches, such as the roses, sample apps that we didn't order or pay for and the port at the end of the meal contributed to a very memorable evening for both of us. It earned by boyfriend some major browny points.
	Albona Ristorante Istriano One of the best restaurants I've ever tried! Everyone, from the hostess to the owner to the chef, was so welcoming and helpful. I had some friends in from France and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us - splitting up all of our dishes so we could sample everything, taking us to the kitchen to meet the cook, and even after the hostess had cut her finger and was on her way to the hospital, she stopped by to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I highly recommend this cute little place for any meal!
	Tommaso Ristorante Italiano Muy Delicisio!!! Magnific! Tommaso's pizza is simply heavenly. The crust is thin but not too thin, topped w/ just enough marinara sauce and delicious mozzarella cheese and thinly sliced Italian sausage and mushroom. Their Caesar salad is also super yummy. Garlicky Caesar dressing with thinly sliced parmesan cheese.
